Bellmunt is a village with an old mining tradition but, due to the abandonment of the mines in the area, agriculture has become the main source of economical wealth. The chief crop is the vineyard but, there are also some olive, almond and hazelnut fields.
In the last century Bellmunt has experienced a population growth and a posterior fall due to the ups and downs of the mines in the area.
